We can’t wait for this amazing trip around the Western Caribbean.  Won’t you join us?

The Educators:  Sherida and Johanne will co-teach the Caribbean Starfish project.  Jennie Lamb will teach The Everlasting Garden project.

Sherida Giddings

As a Quiltworx Certified Instructor since 2015, Sherida has found a way to combine her love of teaching, with the sharing of the precision of Judy’s paper piecing techniques. It is a wonderful feeling to encourage others to develop more confidence in their own skills while creating something special, and having fun at the same time. While she has won ribbons in her local quilt shows, it is even more rewarding to see her students complete their projects and win ribbons  Sherida will happily travel anywhere in Canada and further abroad. She looks forward to sharing her growing collection of quilts as a Trunk Show, as well the having the opportunity to teach at shops, guilds and retreats.

Johanne Moore

Johanne is an accomplished quilter and long armer, who has been involved in all aspects of sewing since she was a teen.  She has worked at local quilt shops and taught a multitude of different quilting classes, including Quiltworx paper piecing, and is involved with teaching new quilters in 4H.  She has taken classes from local and international quilt teachers, including Judy Niemeyer and various Quiltworx Certified Instructors.  Her piecing and long arm work has been featured in several quilting magazines and a book.

Sherida and Johanne have joined us on several of our quilting cruises in the past and it’s always a fun time.  We can’t wait to have them onboard with us again.

Jennie Lamb

Sewing has always been an influential part of my life. Growing up, there isn’t a time I can remember that my grandmother, mother, and aunt weren’t sewing or creating their next masterpiece. Naturally, I began with handwork; that evolved into garment sewing. Not long thereafter, I began quilting and the rest was history! In the last twenty years quilting has become my passion. Now, designing beautiful patterns is also a huge part of that passion.

I wake up everyday feeling blessed to watch my family grow in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Aside from quilting, I thrive on spending time with those I love.

I am a quilt pattern designer from the Pacific Northwest. Quilting is my passion and it seems that it has naturally evolved into quilt pattern writing. I started sewing at about 5 years old and have been sewing or quilting ever since. Writing patterns gives me an avenue to share my love of this art with others!

The Projects:  You will have a choice of 2 classes to attend.  Each class will hold a maximum of 25 people.  When you register, please list your class choice in the Special Request field.

Caribbean Starfish

Caribbean Starfish is a foundation pieced Quiltworx Mixer pattern that features Timeless Treasures Batiks from both the ‘Starfish’ and ‘Gulf Coast’ collections, along with a few blenders.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced quilter, you will be able to enjoy the precision of paper piecing this unique large lap quilt as a souvenir of your Western Caribbean Cruise.
Professional tips and techniques will help you put it together quickly in between enjoying all the amazing ports on this cruise.  To add to the fun, we have several different border and background variations from the collections that will let you customize your precut kit ahead of the cruise.

This beautiful project is made in batiks, measuring 65×65 and includes the binding.  Fabrics might change slightly in final versions.

The Everlasting Garden

The “Everlasting Garden” quilt is more than just a cozy lap quilt; it’s a tapestry of memories, a celebration of friendships, and a testament to the joy of quilting. Designed to evoke the vibrant hues and fragrant blooms of summer, it promises to keep those sunny memories alive long after the season has faded.

Measuring 63″ x 69″, this quilt is a canvas of creativity, suitable for quilters of all levels, from the confident beginner to the seasoned expert. Under the guidance of Jennie, you’ll embark on a journey through two methods of making flying geese, half square triangles, unlocking a treasure trove of tips, tricks, and innovative tools along the way.

Step-by-step directions, complete with pressing arrows and clear graphics, ensure that every stitch is a breeze, while Jennie’s passion for quilting infuses each lesson with warmth and inspiration. Whether you’re a seasoned quilter seeking fresh insights or a beginner eager to learn, the “Everlasting Garden” quilt is your ticket to a blooming adventure in quilting.

Quilt kit will be pre-cut. Please specify whether you would like the light border or the dark border option. Pattern included in each kit.
