About the Educator:

Our Educator will be Joan Ford of Hummingbird Highway.

On February 8, 2003, Joan Ford took her first quilting class and was hooked! In 2006, Joan established her company, Hummingbird Highway, and these days she is best known for patterns, books, and workshops featuring the popular ScrapTherapy® technique. She feels strongly about helping quilters relieve the guilt of a growing scrap fabric stash by cutting, storing, and using scrap fabrics in a variety of quilted projects.
An overview of her process is detailed in all three of her ScrapTherapy books published by The Taunton Press: ScrapTherapy, Cut the Scraps!, Scraps Plus One! and ScrapTherapy, The Versatile Nine Patch.
In 2018, Joan formed a second company, Pudgie Parrot, LLC, to have a home for Your Nest™ Organizer, a neat, nest-like gadget that holds your favorite rulers and sewing notions.
As owner of Hummingbird Highway, LLC and Pudgie Parrot, LLC, Joan designs in her home studio and office. Joan and her husband, Dave share their home with three pet birds.

About the Project:

Joan never disappoints with her quilt designs.  She has designed an amazing project for this cruise, keeping in mind the beauty and intrigue of the islands of Hawaii.  This will be presented as a mystery so be prepared for some fun and surprise as Joan brings her imagination to life in this project.

All of our quilting classes will be held during our time at sea.  Open Sewing times will be scheduled throughout the cruise.  You will  have plenty of time to sew, relax, sightsee, and enjoy the ship’s activities.There are quilt shops in some of the Hawaiian ports we visit.  We will provide you with their locations and will give you flyers with coupons during the cruise.

Oosterdam - Oceanview F, DOceanview: Oceanview staterooms feature a picture window, two lower beds that convert to a queen-sized bed, and private bathroom with tub/shower combination. All staterooms include bathrobes, Elemis bath amenities, complimentary fresh fruit, flat-panel TV and DVD player, personal safe, telephone, and hair dryer.
