About the Educator: The Stitching Coach
High school librarian by day, crafter for life. Dawn, The Stitching Coach, is a certified knitting instructor by The Knitting Guild Association. She began teaching in 2014 when her local librarian asked her to teach an arm knitting class. An avid embroiderer since 1983, she also is a certified instructor by Studio 180 Design (quilting) and Burda Style (garments). Advisor of a high school sewing club, she enjoys volunteering with Days for Girls and Quilts Beyond Borders.
Dawn uses her background in education to help students achieve their goals and practice grace over guilt when trying challenging new skills. She is passionate about all forms of needle arts and ready to pass that along to all generations and skill levels.

About the Project:
Welcome to the land of the midnight sun – Norway and The Shetland Islands, home of the annual Shetland Wool Week. Our projects, from the book Knits From Northern Lands by Jenny Graham, are the perfect companions on your Arctic adventure. Fire and Ice Icelandic Cowl and Mittens will be used to practice colorwork and custom fitting mittens. Participants should know how to cast on, knit and bind off. Dawn, The Stitching Coach will guide “ewe” in managing multiple yarns, yarn floats, gauge and tension. As we tackle the mittens, “ewe” will work in teams to measure your hands for better fitting mittens. Crafted with thick yarn, these items will knit up quickly and are compact enough to take on excursions or lectures.

Itinerary: Knitting classes will be held during our time at sea. Open Knitting hours will also be provided. Knitting room will be closed during specific times as required by the cruise line policies.
About the Ship: Holland America Rotterdam

All pricing includes the Have It All package offered through Holland America. This package is valued at approximately $1500 and includes the following:
Shore Excursions: Up to $100 off any shore excursion booked through Holland America.
Drink Package: You can choose from a large selection of wine, beer, spirits and cocktails, plus non-alcoholic options like sodas, specialty coffees and more – with bar service charges included. 15 drinks per person, per day.

Payment Schedule:
1st deposit of $1000 per person: Due at the time of booking
2nd deposit of $1000 per person: Due on or before 1 July 2026
3rd deposit of $1000 per person: Due on or before 1 January 2027
Final Payment: Due on or before 1 June 2027
*Monthly Payments will begin after the 1st deposit. The amounts shown above are based on 18 months of payments (January 2026 through June 2027). Payment amount will be adjusted based on starting date.

Cancellation Fee Schedule: These fees are in addition to any fees charged by the cruise line.

A $1000 cancellation fee per person will be assessed beginning 1 October 2026
