About the Educator:  Leeza Hernandez

Hi! I’m Leeza Hernandez, an English designer and illustrator who sometimes likes to write. I’ve been living on the East Coast of the USA for approximately 20 years (wow, that flew by!).

Designing magazines and newspapers has been at the forefront of my career since the ‘90s, coupled with illustrating books for young readers since the early 2000s. Now, deep into the throws of 2019, I’m excited to add art licensing to my repertoire, creating various patterns for surface design, along with Cat Conventions (yep, it’s a thing!) where I sell my kitty cat artwork to fellow cat lovers. You’ll find a lot of that on my Instagram page or over in my Etsy shop.

Printmaking, playing with pen and ink, painting, sewing and noodling around in my studio making art are all part of my jam.  My family, cats, travel and cheese are the sauce beyond the awesome. They give me oodles of inspiration that help inform my work as well as tell my stories.

About the Project:

Leeza will be designing a new project for this fun, Halloween sailing.  Stay tuned for more details on the project.

About the Ship:  Celebrity Silhouette

Celebrity Silhouette debuted in July 2011 as the fourth of five ships in the Solstice Class. The 122,400-ton vessel has since gone through a massive refurbishment in 2020 and a minor dry dock in November 2024, keeping the ship up to date and among the more popular ones in the Celebrity fleet.

Celebrity Cruises’ Silhouette, both post-refurb and post-dry dock, retains its sophistication with a high-energy vibe, sans pretention. Silhouette carries nearly 3,000 passengers — a very small percentage of which are children — and inserts playful touches, like an ice-topped martini bar that features the nightly Martini Flight Show with juggling bartenders, a cook-your-own steakhouse, a once-per-sailing pool deck party called Shine the Night with shimmering metallic everything, and another restaurant where passengers watch a light-hearted animation called “Le Petit Chef.”
